After having spent years in the 'rowing information' business, we've realized how compartmentalized our sport can be. There are debates over everything: from how to select athletes for the Olympic team to whether a particular gas can will last through a day's practice! Some would say the sport needs consistent education for coaches and athletes; it absolutely needs consistent resources. Our objective is to provide some of those resources, and thereby hopefully ease the flow of knowledge in our community. The Cox GuideGeorge Kirschbaum’s Down and Dirty Guides to coxing are his own passionate contribution of knowledge to the sport, and one of the only published print references available for coxswains. In addition, he has also produced several reference tools in cooperation with top coxswains including a CD and reference card. Rowing Camps - Reviews & SearchRowingcamps.net was started as a entrepeneurial side project by Ryan, who noticed the complete absense of any system of formal organization for camps during his time building Sparks Rowing Camp. He wanted to create a way for camps to compete head to head via parent and camper reviews while enabling folks to find camps that fit them better. The Rowing Cox BlogRowingCox.com was setup as a blog site for our coxing staff to share their insights on the sport and hopefully provide enough knowledge to prove the value of our coxswain school. We enjoy a large amount of traffic on this site, and are happy to open it up to guest contributors every now and then. Rowing RecruitingRowingRecruiting.com was established to answer simple questions we encountered every day in regards to the recruiting process. When we searched google for simple answers in regards to the process, we came up with nothing - so we decided to provide simple information from our own experience to save families time and money. The Sparks Rowing DatabaseThe Rowing Database was established given how many requests we received from parents for simple lists of all of the available rowing colleges. With the database, our goal was to provide families a place where they could turn for free to compare schools and find options that would fit for them. |
